Blue on Sail – Sailing for a Cause
Lefkada Marina | 31 August 2025 MG Yachts had the privilege to sail with the Hellenic Diabetes Federation (ΕΛΟΔΙ) for the Blue on Sail initiative — a special day where the power of teamwork met the freedom of the sea. Young people aged 18–30 living with Type 1 Diabetes joined our crew aboard an MG Yachts sailing yacht, learning the basics of seamanship while sharing stories, laughter, and pure Ionian joy. From the morning briefing to setting sail under the Lefkada sun, every moment was filled with smiles, courage, and a shared sense of achievement. We are truly proud to have supported this inspiring program that promotes awareness, empowerment, and inclusion through sailing. We had the pleasure of hosting the YCA REISER Flotilla by Yachtcharter Müller at our MG Yachts base in Palairos, the charming and growing hub on the Ionian coast. As MG Yachts, we were proud to be part of this year’s YCA Clubtörn 2025, supporting an unforgettable journey through the Ionian Islands in ideal wind and weather conditions, just as a flotilla should be. Thomas Hickersberger from Yachtcharter Müller joined us, and we truly enjoyed the time spent together. Thank you for being part of this special chapter at our new base! Renowned Czech Director Jan Svěrák Sails with MG Yachts
We had the pleasure of welcoming Academy Award-winning Czech director Jan Svěrák aboard one of our yachts for a private cruise earlier this season. Mr. Svěrák, best known for his film Kolya, enjoyed the serenity and beauty of the Ionian Sea, drawing inspiration for his next cinematic project. We are thrilled to announce that he will be returning this September to continue filming scenes for his upcoming movie. It is an honor for MG Yachts to play a small part in the creative journey of such a celebrated filmmaker.
